Quilt Size Calculator

Enter how many blocks you are setting and their finished size. Add sashing and a border and the calculator gives you the finished top dimensions.

Finished top

48" x 48"

How big will my quilt be?

The finished top is the block grid plus any sashing and borders. Multiply the block size by the number of columns for the width and by the number of rows for the length. If you add sashing, the calculator inserts a strip between every block and around the outside, which grows the top by the sashing width times the number of seam lines. A border adds its width to all four sides, so a 6 inch finished top gains 12 inches once a 3 inch border wraps both edges.

For reference, common finished sizes are Throw 52 x 65, Twin 70 x 90, and Queen 90 x 108 inches. Aim a little over the mattress if you want drop on the sides.
